3x Golden Valley Conference Coach of the Year

The College of the Redwoods Men’s 篮球 Revolution is in full swing under the leadership of 瑞安编注. In 2022-2023, the Corsairs went on another magical run – their 26-4 record resulting in not only their Third Straight Golden Valley Conference Championship, but also advancing to the California State Regional Final. 感谢他们的成就, Bisio was named 2023 California State coach of the year for the north, along with his third straight Golden Valley Conference coach of the year award.

In Bisio’s three seasons in charge of the Corsairs, Redwoods has:

· Won Three Golden Valley Conference Championships (2020,2022,2023)

· Advanced to two California State Playoff Regional Finals (2020, 2023)

· Hosted and won at least one playoff game each season

· Received the highest State Ranking in School History (11)

· Received the highest Northern California State Playoff seed in school history (6)

· Led California in assists and 3-point shooting

Bisio didn’t waste much time in his inaugural season as head coach of the Redwoods men’s basketball program in 2019-2020. Taking over a program which had gone 0-26 the season before his arrival, Bisio led the Corsairs to a record of 22-6 and the deepest playoff run in school history. The sudden and forceful impact to the landscape was widely felt, garnering Bisio votes for California Community College Coach of the Year.

Bisio has produced three different Conference MVP’s and 1st Team All State players in sophomore forward Thomas Nelson (2020), freshman big man Jon Nchekwube (2022, 2023), and freshman sharpshooter Trey Neff (2023), along with All-Conference selections in Zac Claus, 唐纳德·威利斯, 拉吉列, 布拉德利威利斯, Aidan-Atkins萨拉查, 和张杰. 在他的三个赛季中, seven players have received scholarships from Redwoods to play at higher levels.

“I’m incredibly grateful to be a part of this department and I feel very lucky that Mr. Bob Brown has entrusted me with the basketball program. The storybook seasons we’ve experienced together showcase how Redwoods is a place where student-athletes can develop holistically and move onto the University level – all while engaging and inspiring our local community. We want to keep getting players scholarships and drive this thing towards four GVC Championships in a row!”

Bisio comes to College of the Redwoods after becoming the winningest head coach in Arcata High School boys’ basketball history – compiling a record of 82-31 in his four seasons. 在他任职期间, the Tigers made four-straight North Coast Section playoff appearances, including a run to the state playoffs in the 2015-2016 season. 在那个时候, Arcata captured three-straight HDN Conference titles, three-straight conference tournament titles, and produced three-straight league MVP’s.

Bisio has an international flair to his resume, having coached four seasons of men’s, 女性的, and elite youth basketball at Hvidovre 篮球 Club in Copenhagen, 丹麦. 在Hvidovre, Bisio led the u-16 boys’ team to three-straight National Final Four appearances – the first in the club’s history. He also developed players who went on to represent Team 丹麦 in International competition, along playing professionally domestically.

Bisio’s high school coaching experiences also include stints at Carmel High School and The Branson School, 在罗斯, California – where the Bulls won the North Coast Section and CIF NorCal Division 5

锦标赛. Bisio also possesses previous junior college experience coaching with legendary head coach and mentor, 克雷格·麦克米兰, at Santa Rosa Junior College.

As a player, Bisio graduated from St. Bernard’s High School in 2000 and still holds the all-time single season scoring record. He then was the starting point guard at Santa Rosa Junior College where his Bearcub teams won Back-to-Back Bay Valley Conference 锦标赛 and competed in the 2003 California Elite 8. Bisio then accepted a scholarship to California State Monterey Bay, playing for Hall of Fame coach Bill Trumbo and leading the California Collegiate Athletic Association in assist-to-turnover ratio as a senior.

Bisio holds a bachelor’s degree from California State Monterey Bay in Contemporary Music, and a master’s degree from Concordia University, Irvine in Coaching and Athletic Administration.
